Characteristics of foam polystyrene:

• Low heat conductivity (0,027-0,040 W/m°Ñ) and density (15-40 kg/m3).

• Water absorption at immersing in water for 7 days is 0,5-1,5 % from volume.

• Sorptive humidity of foam polystyrene is 3-6 % in weight

• Diffusion of steam in foam polystyrene is neglible small.

• Foam polystyrene is a non-polluting material.

• At burning of foam polystyrene water and carbonic gas are formed.

Polystyrene   - an extender for manufacture of light concrete (polystyrene concrete)

The description of a material

An extender "Polystyrene" is granulated foam polystyrene material (a ball in diameter 3-8 mm) with white color, non-polluting material both having excellent thermal isolation and soundproofing characteristics. Balls pass special processing that allows them to mix with water and cement so, that they do not emerge on a surface, and form homogeneous structure. " Polystyrene " is the basic component at manufacturing of polystyrene concrete mixes from cement and water.

the Basic advantages of concrete on the basis of light foam polystyrene extender:

  • Excellent thermal isolation and acoustic protection properties;
  • uniformity of structure;
  • high durability ;
  • There is an opportunity of preparation directly on a building site ;
  • Transportation of fresh concrete mix by pump to a place of stacking.

Sphere of application:

  • Light basis which can be used for all kinds of floors;
  • Thermal isolation of flat roofs.

Preparation of polystyrene concrete and its stacking

All components are loaded in concrete mixed installation in the following sequence: water, polystyrene balls, cement . It is necessary to mix within 10 minutes up to homogeneous structure. With the help of the pump polystyrene concrete moves on flexible hoses to a place of stacking. When temperature is lower than + 5°Ñ liquid anti-frosty additives are used. The surface on which the material is stacked, is beforehand carefully cleared from dust and also it is moistened with water. In a warm season polystyrene concrete hardens for two day.
